Leigh-Anna Hidalgo: Highlighting Central American Thinkers, Artists, and Activists
I have drawn on Teaching Central America for my higher education courses on Central Americans in the United States. I highlight Central American poets, musicians, activists, and historical figures using materials from the Teaching Central America website. My goal is for students to leave the course remembering these thinkers, artists, and activists, who teach us so much about courage, long after the semester ends. — Leigh-Anna Hidalgo, assistant professor, Yale Center for the Study of Race, Indigeneity, and Transnational Migration
